A self-taught artist, Kieran's creative journey has been shaped by spirituality, lived experience and his connection to Aboriginal culture. Rather than following a formal artistic path, he developed his own distinctive style through painting, storytelling and personal expression.
For Kieran, art is much more than something visual. It is a way of communicating emotion, preserving stories, processing life experiences and creating connections between people, culture, Country and spirit.
His artworks are influenced by Country, Dreaming stories, Mother Earth, ancestral connection, spirituality and his own personal experiences. Every piece has its own meaning and story, with the colours, patterns, symbols and materials chosen according to the vision behind the work.

Tradition Meets Contemporary Expression
Kieran's work brings together traditional influences and contemporary artistic expression.
He works across a diverse range of mediums and surfaces, including canvas, fabrics and custom pieces, using materials such as acrylics, textured paints, traditional ochres, metallic finishes and glitter.
His colour palettes can move from earthy reds, yellows and ochres inspired by Country to vibrant pinks, greens, blues, golds and silvers. This freedom to experiment with colour and texture has become an important part of his artistic identity.
Rather than restricting himself to one particular visual style, Kieran allows the story of each artwork to guide its creation.
Some pieces are bold and vibrant. Others are earthy, reflective or deeply spiritual. Each represents a different story, experience or connection.
Art, Story & Connection
At the heart of Kieran's work is connection.

For Kieran, creating Aboriginal art is also about contributing to the continuation and celebration of culture. His work reflects both the cultural foundations that came before him and his own experiences as a contemporary Aboriginal man and artist.
Through his paintings, he hopes to create conversations, encourage connection and leave behind something meaningful for the people he loves and for future generations.
His artistic journey is ultimately one of culture, spirituality, resilience, storytelling and connection — transforming experiences from his own life into artworks that can carry meaning into the lives of others.
When the Journey Began
One of the most profound influences on Kieran's artistic journey was the loss of his mother, Valerie Kate Hearn, who passed away on 28 July 2022.
During a period of grief and reflection, Kieran found himself increasingly turning towards art.
What initially provided an outlet for emotion gradually became something much deeper: a source of purpose, healing, spiritual grounding and connection.
Painting gave Kieran another way to honour his mother and the influence she had on his life. Each brushstroke offered an opportunity to transform grief, memories and emotion into something tangible and meaningful.
What emerged from that period would ultimately become an important part of his identity as an artist.
His mother's memory continues to hold a special place within his artistic journey, and the experiences that have shaped his life continue to influence the depth, emotion and meaning found throughout his work.
