For countless generations, Aboriginal peoples have cared for Country through knowledge passed from one generation to the next. Cultural burning forms part of this relationship — the careful use of fire to care for landscapes, encourage renewal and maintain balance within Country.

Within this artwork, fire has passed across Kunja Country, leaving behind a landscape beginning its cycle of regeneration. What may initially appear changed or bare is not an ending, but the beginning of renewal. New grasses emerge, plants return and life gradually moves back across the land.

The brilliant red, orange and golden sky represents the presence and power of fire, while the darkened earth below reflects Country after burning. Running through the centre, the waterway continues to carry life through the landscape, connecting land, water, plants and animals as Country begins to regenerate.

The trees standing across the horizon represent endurance. Some remain together while others stand alone, watching over a landscape that continues to change through seasons of growth, fire and renewal.

The bird resting high within the tree looks across Country as life begins again. Within this artwork, it represents observation and the importance of understanding the signs within the landscape.

At the heart of the artwork is the understanding that caring for Country requires knowledge, responsibility and respect. Country is not separate from people; the wellbeing of land, water, animals, community and culture are deeply connected.

Free Shipping Australia Wide on all Original Art Canvas and Fine art prints. All products are sent fully-insured, un-stretched, and prints are carefully rolled in a protective tube for FREE Australia-wide shipping via Australia Post. International shipping costs are determined at checkout. 

Once payment has been received and your artwork has been dispatched, you will be sent a tracking number so you can follow your delivery through the Australia Post tracking system.

All artworks are packed with great care to ensure safe transit. Deliveries must be signed for upon arrival. Please note we do not deliver to PO Boxes. Most Australian deliveries arrive within 3–5 business days from dispatch. Any damages must be reported to Kunja Dreaming within 24 hours of delivery.
