Water of Life Dreaming tells a story of Country awakening — of water returning to the land, life beginning again, and the deep connection between Country, people, sky and spirit.

Across the landscape of South West Queensland, Country stretches beneath a brilliant evening sky. Deep reds, pinks, purples and soft oranges move across the horizon as daylight begins to fade and the first stars appear above the land.

At the heart of the artwork is the flowing waterfall — the Water of Life.

Water is essential to everything that lives. It nourishes the earth, feeds the trees and grasses, provides for animals and people, and brings new growth to Country. Its movement through the landscape represents life, renewal, healing and abundance.

The waterfall also reflects the journey of life itself. Water does not always travel along an easy path. It falls, changes direction, moves around obstacles and gathers itself again — yet it continues forward. In the same way, people can experience hardship, loss and change while still finding the strength to continue their journey.

Surrounding the water, the green Country represents new life and regeneration. After dry and difficult seasons, water transforms the landscape, reminding us that Country is constantly moving through cycles of rest, renewal and growth.

Standing beside the waterfall is the old tree.

Its bare branches reach towards the sky while its roots remain firmly connected to the earth. It represents strength, endurance and resilience — the ability to remain standing through changing seasons and difficult times. It also represents the generations who have come before, whose knowledge and connection to Country continue through those who follow.

High upon the branches sits the magpie.

Within the story of Water of Life Dreaming, the magpie becomes the messenger and watcher of Country. From high above the landscape, it observes the changing seasons, the movement of the water and the life growing below. Its presence represents awareness, communication and the quiet messages that can be found in nature when we take the time to listen.

Above Country, the colourful sky represents hope, transformation and new beginnings. The scattered stars connect the earth below with the vast sky above, symbolising the generations who have looked upon the same stars and maintained their connection to Country across time.

Together, the water, trees, bird, land and sky remind us that nothing exists alone.

Free Shipping Australia Wide on all Original Art Canvas and Fine art prints. All products are sent fully-insured, un-stretched, and prints are carefully rolled in a protective tube for FREE Australia-wide shipping via Australia Post. International shipping costs are determined at checkout. 

Once payment has been received and your artwork has been dispatched, you will be sent a tracking number so you can follow your delivery through the Australia Post tracking system.

All artworks are packed with great care to ensure safe transit. Deliveries must be signed for upon arrival. Please note we do not deliver to PO Boxes. Most Australian deliveries arrive within 3–5 business days from dispatch. Any damages must be reported to Kunja Dreaming within 24 hours of delivery.
